Hikers: Julie, Lyndy, Diego
The LaGrange County Parks Department has been putting a lot of work into the local park trails and Dallas Lake is one of the beneficiaries of that effort. We spent an afternoon strolling along the almost 2 mile loop trail meandering along the lake and through the wetlands of this popular county park. The trail is mostly level with a mix of crushed stone and boardwalks. Leashed dogs are welcome so I brought along my canine sidekick, Diego.
Part of the boardwalk section takes you through the wetlands surrounding Pond Lil.
Another boardwalk takes you to another wetland area along the park road. There is a bird blind for all you birdwatchers out there.
In addition to the hiking trail, there is a swimming beach with lifeguards in the summer, picnic areas and a playground. This is a great local park for the whole family!
